Welcome to St Ives Veterinary Surgery

I established St Ives Veterinary Surgery in 1992 to provide caring and compassionate veterinary treatment to the many animals that lived in St Ives. I envisaged a practice that would not only provide optimum veterinary care, but would also deliver these services in a manner that showed an empathy and understanding to the needs of our patients and their owners. Responding to these special needs is even more important when our pets are unwell or in need of urgent treatment.
Since opening the practice in modest premises with a staff of one (myself), the practice has gradually grown over the years. We can now provide a comprehensive range of services delivered by a caring and dedicated team of veterinarians and nurses. The relocation of the surgery into St Ives Shopping Plaza some eight years ago enabled us to substantially upgrade our equipment and facilities. We can now perform major surgery and undertake complex medical investigations if required. The hospital wards are well equipped, hygienic and offer maximum comfort to our patients.
The practice provides services to the many types of pets seen in our local area, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and yes, even pet rats and mice. We are committed to encouraging responsible pet ownership which involves giving information on feeding, housing, preventative medicine and very importantly how our pets interact with family and also within the local community. Fostering the idea of responsible pet ownership is important, and should include all members of your pet's family and therefore we encourage children to attend the practice with their pets.
I am very fortunate to have been able to assemble a fantastic team of loyal veterinarians and nurses, many whom have been at the surgery for over 5 years. All of the friendly staff that work at St Ives Veterinary Surgery are kind and compassionate and enjoy providing the best possible care to your pet; they are all "animal lovers". They are extremely well qualified, with the nurses having completed the highest level of Animal Care Certificates through TAFE, and all of the veterinarians have extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery. The team's mission is to deliver exceptional service to you and your pet in a friendly and personalised manner.

Finally, I would like to thank all of the many clients and their pets who have faithfully supported the practice over the last 16 years. I realise that the wonderful clients that we have make coming to work each day enjoyable and something to look forward to. I also welcome any new clients and their pets to the practice. I trust that your visits will be enjoyable and form the basis of a long relationship where St Ives Veterinary Surgery will exceed your expectations and provide polite and friendly service. All of us look forward to seeing you and your pet at the practice in the near future.
