Michael Eaton

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons), PHD, MRCVS)

Michael graduated from Sydney University with 1st Class honours in 1982. He then went to England to work for 2 years before returning home to work on Sydney's Northern Beaches. In 1992 he opened St Ives Veterinary Surgery. Michael is a member of the Australian Veterinary Association and completed a PhD in exercise physiology at Sydney University in 1996. In his free time, Michael enjoys camping, spending time with his family and is the owner of Maisi a Cavalier King Charles and Lilli, a Burmese.

Zane Hsu

(BVSc (Hons), MRCVS)

Zane graduated from Sydney University in 2002 with 1st Class honours and is currently undertaking a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice through the University of Edinburgh. Zane started working at St Ives Veterinary Surgery in early 2007 and has developed special insterests in ultrasonography and internal medicine. Zane has 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 beautiful children Leon and Abigail . When not at work, Zane enjoys cooking, playing and listening to music, and spending time with his family.


Sally Tilley

(BVsc, DipClinVetStud)

Sally graduated from Sydney University in 2000. In 2001 she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Sydney University, Camden working with their specialists. Sally has been with St Ives Veterinary Surgery since 2002 and although she loves consulting, she thrives on the surgical cases. She also has a keen interest in ophthalmology and heart disease. Sally also looks after managing our great team of veterinary nurses. When not at the clinic, Sally has her hands full looking after her 2 sons Robert and Caleb, her 2 cats Herb and Tripod (yes he has 3 legs) and her dog Taylor.

Vanessa Reid

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons))

Vanessa graduated from Sydney University in 1999 with 1st Class honours and completed additional studies in the USA. Vanessa has been part of the team since 2003 and is an AQIS accredited vet, so she can help to export your pet if you move overseas. Vanessa has a keen interest in pathology, complex medical case and animal behaviour. She is currently doing further study in the area of animal behaviour.Vanessa enjoys swimming, walking her cheeky Poodle cross called Bruce and driving her kids around to sporting activites. She is a proud owner of her geriatric Cornish Rex, Mawi.


Alison Budge

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Alison works part-time at the surgery and brings a wealth of experience to the practice. She graduated from Sydney University in 1993 and has worked extensively in Sydney, the Blue Mountains and in England.  Alison enjoys working on medical cases and has a particular interest in hormonal diseases. In her space time, she enjoys watching foreign films, travelling and making jewellery.

Laura Stephens

Veterinarian (BVSc BSc(Hons))

Laura graduated from Sydney University in 2006 with 1st Class honours in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Her love for animals and medicine saw her return to university to study Veterinary Science, graduating in 2012. In 2013, Laura joined the St Ives Veterinary Surgery team. When not at work, Laura enjoys playing basketball, running and the beach. Having always owned German Shorthaired Pointers, Laura has a soft spot for big dogs.


Hilary Chan

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Hilary graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017 with first class honours. While studying, she worked as a nurse at an emergency/specialist hospital in North Ryde. She joined the St Ives Veterinary Surgery team in December 2017. Hilary enjoys running, swimming, practising Krav Maga in her spare time, as well as spending time with her tuxedo cat, Ribena (Beans) and Miniature Schnauzer, Wally.

Farrah Seeto-Loe

Veterinary Practice Manager

Farrah has been at St Ives Veterinary Surgery since 2000. She has completed her veterinary nursing certificate and has also completed a Certificate in Practice Managment. Farrah enjoys horse riding, cooking and quilt making. She owns Boags, a ginger cat she rescued as a stray. Farrah also has a daughter named Alexa.

Laura Curry

Veterinary Nurse

Laura joined the practice in March 2013 and has completed her Veterinary Nursing Certificate IV in 2014. Laura loves all animals, big and small, and when not at work enjoys playing netball and looking after her Welsh Terrier Teddy.

Eloise Norton

Veterinary Nurse

Eloise joined the practice in October 2013 and has completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Eloise is currently studying Marine Biology at Maquarie University and in her free time loves hanging out with her husband Adam and their cats, Donut, Weetbix and Popcorn.


Nicole Jeyaraj

Veterinary Nurse

Nicole joined the practice in May 2014. She spent 3 months volunteering in Africa before completing her studies in Veterinary Nursing at the end of 2013. Along with her love of animals, Nicole enjoys cooking, playing soccer and traveling. When she is away from the clinic, Nicole is hanging out with her energetic rescue dog Johnny.

Caitlin Wall

Trainee Nurse

Caitlin joined the practice in June 2015. Before starting work at the clinic, Caitlin studied Animal Science at UNE. In her time off she enjoys rescuing dogs and works closely with the rescue group Fetching Dogs, often fostering dogs of all ages and sizes until they can find more permanent homes. Caitlin loves spending time with her own two rescue dogs; Remington and Trigger.

Anna Dalton

Trainee Nurse

Anna joined the team in August 2014. She has completed her Diploma in Horse Industry Management and managed sport horses in Australia and in Europe. Her passion is riding dressage and hopes to compete on her horse Castiel. Anna enjoys spending time with her two rescue cats Molly and Ying Yang.
