Michael Eaton

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons), PHD, MRCVS)

Michael graduated from Sydney University with 1st Class honours in 1982. He then went to England to work for 2 years before returning home to work on Sydney's Northern Beaches. In 1992 he opened St Ives Veterinary Hospital. Michael is a member of the Australian Veterinary Association and completed a PhD in exercise physiology at Sydney University in 1996. In his free time, Michael enjoys camping, spending time with his family and is the owner of Maisi a Cavalier King Charles and Lilli, a Burmese.

Zane Hsu

(BVSc (Hons), MRCVS)

Zane graduated from Sydney University in 2002 with 1st Class honours and is currently undertaking a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice through the University of Edinburgh. Zane started working at St Ives Veterinary Hospital in early 2007 and has developed special insterests in ultrasonography and internal medicine. Zane has 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 beautiful children Leon and Abigail . When not at work, Zane enjoys cooking, playing and listening to music, and spending time with his family.


Sally Tilley

(BVsc, DipClinVetStud)

Sally graduated from Sydney University in 2000. In 2001 she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Sydney University, Camden working with their specialists. Sally has been with St Ives Veterinary Hospital since 2002 and although she loves consulting, she thrives on the surgical cases. She also has a keen interest in ophthalmology and heart disease. Sally also looks after managing our great team of veterinary nurses. When not at the clinic, Sally has her hands full looking after her 2 sons Robert and Caleb, her 2 cats Herb and Tripod (yes he has 3 legs) and her dog Taylor.

Vanessa Reid

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (Veterinary Behaviour) )

Vanessa graduated from Sydney University in 1999 with first class honours and has completed additional studies in the USA. Vanessa has been part of the team since 2003 and has a keen interest in pathology, complex medical cases and animal behaviour. She is an AQIS accredited vet, so is able to help with exporting your pet if you move overseas. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys swimming, walking her cheeky Poodle cross called Bruce and driving her kids around to sporting activities.

Vanessa has also completed post graduate studies and  attained membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Behaviour, and is available for private behavioural consultations through her behaviour service called Positive Pets Behaviour Vet. Alison Budge

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Alison works part-time at the surgery and brings a wealth of experience to the practice. She graduated from Sydney University in 1993 and has worked extensively in Sydney, the Blue Mountains and in England.  Alison enjoys working on medical cases and has a particular interest in hormonal diseases. In her space time, she enjoys watching foreign films, travelling and making jewellery.

Laura Stephens

Veterinarian (BVSc BSc(Hons))

Laura graduated from Sydney University in 2006 with 1st Class honours in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Her love for animals and medicine saw her return to university to study Veterinary Science, graduating in 2012. In 2013, Laura joined the St Ives Veterinary Hospital team. When not at work, Laura enjoys playing basketball, running and the beach. Having always owned German Shorthaired Pointers, Laura has a soft spot for big dogs.


Amanda Young

Veterinarian (DVM, BHSc.TCM, BSc (Hons))

Amanda graduated from Sydney University in 2009 with 1st Class Honours in Physiology. She further went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney and became a qualified practitioner in human acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. With an interest in Complementary medicine and having a love for animals, Amanda returned to study her third degree, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Sydney University, graduating in 2019. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and can speak Mandarin.

Amanda enjoys surgery and the challenges in working up complex medical cases. She has goals in pursuing her dream in becoming a qualified animal acupuncturist/herbalist in the near future.

In her spare time, Amanda loves to spend time with family and friends, travelling, free-sketch drawing and being involved in volunteering work.

Farrah Seeto-Loe

Veterinary Practice Manager

Farrah has been at St Ives Veterinary Hospital since 2000. She has completed her veterinary nursing certificate and has also completed a Certificate in Practice Managment. Farrah enjoys horse riding, cooking and quilt making. She owns Boags, a ginger cat she rescued as a stray. Farrah also has a daughter named Alexa.

Eloise Norton

Veterinary Nurse

Eloise joined the practice in October 2013 and has completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Eloise is currently studying Marine Biology at Maquarie University and in her free time loves hanging out with her husband Adam and their cat, Weetbix .


Anna Dalton

Trainee Nurse

Anna joined the team in August 2014. She has completed her Diploma in Horse Industry Management and managed sport horses in Australia and in Europe. Her passion is riding dressage and hopes to compete on her horse Castiel. Anna enjoys spending time with her two rescue cats Molly and Ying Yang.

Hannah Gibbs

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Hannah is the newest and youngest member of the St Ives Vet team. Hannah is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Nursing Certificate at Tafe and will complete her study at the end of 2020. Hannah lives in a big household of 7 people, 12 birds and 2 dogs. She enjoys travelling, camping and the beach. Hannah spends her time outside of work and studying with her Bullmastiff, Beau.


Jason Hawkins

Trainee Nurse

Jason joined the team in July 2018, working whilst studying the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at Sydney University. He is a dog and cat enthusiast with a passion for all things surgical, and would one day love to pursue a carrier in small animal orthopaedics. Outside of work and study he enjoys playing games, exercising, cooking and spending time with friends. He is also the proud owner of his little white Bichon, Snowy.

Micaela Teperson

Trainee Nurse

Micaela joined the team in August 2018. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Science at Macquarie University with the hope of studying Veterinarian medicine. Micaela loves all animals and prior to the clinic she was a volunteer keeper at Taronga Zoo. In her spare time, Micaela enjoys hanging out with her horse Goku and dog Toby.

Tori Allen

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Tori joined the team in October 2020. She has completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the AVNAT registration scheme. Tori is passionate about all animals and has a particularly large interest for Australian wildlife. In her spare time you will find her gardening, studying and spending time with her partner Will and Fox Terrier Carter.

Elise Bergersen

Trainee Nurse

Elise recently join the practice in 2020 and is the youngest member in our team.
